Dahlan Iskan, work..work...work

"Mr. Dahlan, go in the electricity business. Help your country" says Prof. Hu, professor at the University of the oldest and best-in-China, Tsinhua University. ("Hati Baru" book).

From these words of Dahlan Iskan, Jawa Pos Group CEO of one of the largest media company in Indonesia was determined to plunge in the electricity business by build 2x25 MW power plant fueled by coal in East Kalimantan (Kalimantan). Full of risk, not necessarily because one of the first electric field is promising and that certainly would be inconceivable to face a very complex bureaucracy that not many employers who were involved in this field.

But the choice to jump into the electric business did not seem like the wrong choice because in addition he managed to build a power plant in East Kalimantan, he eventually became the number one in PT. PLN (Persero), the state-owned electricity company, something which is very prestigious position for anyone.

The challenge is so great though known as a large state-owned Pertamina and Telkom after the company was not secermelang brother. PLN is known as a company that is always lost, even one of the largest contributors to loss of state-owned enterprises (Riaupos newspapper). In addition, as a company that controls the distribution of electricity to the community PLN customers is considered unsatisfactory because it is so frequent power outages.

That is the challenge and in the hands of Dahlan Iskan now borne this burden. Hopefully he is right person PLN to overcome various problems concerning the availability of electrical energy in Indonesia.
